Install the GP1138930 Universal Fill Valve for a One-Piece Toilet

Bold_Look_of_Kohler.jpg

Some one-piece toilets do not have refill hoses attached to the existing fill valve. Our universal fill valve requires a hose connected to the assembly as shown in the example below (Fig. 1).

  1. Before installing the new fill valve, locate the orange flow restrictor in the package (Fig. 2).
  2. The fill valve is shipped with a blue flow restrictor pre-installed. Remove the blue flow restrictor and install the orange restrictor in its place (Fig. 3).
  3. The white hose may be attached to the fill valve. The white hose needs to be secured to the flush valve overflow tube. Install the metal clip onto the overflow tube.

Note: Your flush valve overflow tube may be a rectangle similar to (Fig. 4).  Please continue to secure the overflow hose to the inside of the flush valve overflow.

During the flush cycle, water will come out of the white hose. This is normal and will allow water to be added to the bowl for proper flushing.
