Although nearly every Kohler toilet comes with a trip lever already installed on the tank, there may come a time when it is necessary to replace one. Kohler trip levers are designed for ease of repair for the homeowner.
- Begin by unclipping the flapper/canister chain from the end of the trip arm inside the toilet tank (Fig. 1).
- Remove the mounting nut on the back of the trip lever by rotating it counterclockwise (Fig. 2).
- Gently pull the trip lever forward from the tank and tilt it so that the arm will be positioned to slide out (Fig. 3).
- Reverse the process with the new trip lever and your installation is complete (Fig. 4).
